Mt. McGee and Evolution Valley

Tarns scattered across the open granite basin below Muir Pass, with the peaks of the Evolution group on the skyline.

July in the High Sierra, and the snowmelt was still feeding the tarns below Muir Pass. The sky was a deep blue, and the air was clear enough to see for miles across the treeless landscape.
