Wilderness Photographer
Behind the lens

I first started photography in an effort to preserve family memories the day my first daughter was born. Inspired by the late Galen Rowell, I started to explore the High Sierra mountains. Fast forward twenty years later, I've found my calling as a wilderness photographer, exploring the trails and sights. As an avid backpacker, nature-lover, and photographer, I have always been on the search to capture the perfect story. For years, I have attempted to capture the beauty and elegance of the High Sierra and its light and share it with the world.
Every photo I take in the wilderness has a story associated with it. I only half-jokingly say that "trespassers will be told stories". If you run into me at an art fair, please ask me for the backstory of a photo.
I write a newsletter focused on backpacking and hiking at norcalhiker.net.
