Sierra Nevada Mountains, Summer Clouds

Granite peaks rise behind a sparse forest and rocky foreground under cumulus clouds in the Sierra Nevada.

July in the High Sierra, and the cumulus clouds were building early. I was above 10,000 feet, and the air was thin and dry; the granite peaks in the distance still had a few patches of snow.
