Kearsarge Pass Pothole Lake, Sierra

Pothole Lake is surrounded by granite peaks and talus slopes under a cloudy sky in the Sierra Nevada.

July in the High Sierra, and the sky was threatening rain as I hiked up to Kearsarge Pass. This small lake sits in a granite bowl just below the pass, reflecting the gray sky.
