Evolution Valley Lake and Granite

A lake sits at the base of granite peaks and domes in Evolution Valley, Sierra Nevada.

July in Evolution Valley is always a treat. The granite is smooth and sculpted, and the lakes are full from the snowmelt. The clouds were building all afternoon, but never amounted to much.
