Cathedral Range

The granite peaks and domes of the Cathedral Range stand over pine and fir, summer cloud building through the afternoon.

Hiking in Yosemite's high country, I was struck by the way the granite domes and peaks of the Cathedral Range dominate the landscape. The trees here are mostly Jeffrey pine and lodgepole pine, clinging to the bare rock.
