Cathedral Range Granite Peaks

The Cathedral Range in Yosemite National Park rises behind a granite landscape dotted with evergreen trees under a partly cloudy sky.

Hiking in Yosemite's high country, I was struck by the way the granite domes and peaks of the Cathedral Range dominate the landscape. The trees here are mostly Jeffrey pine and lodgepole pine, clinging to the bare rock.
