Purple lake inlet

Along the John Muir Trail, the inlet to purple lake along with the Sierra Nevada mountains. The John Muir Trail has many astonishing sights. Often, the scenery changes dramatically every quarter mile. If you are a photographer, you are stopping every 100 feet and taking photos. Just after we left Virgina Lake in another thunderstorm, we climbed sharply to reach Purple lake. Purple lake was featured in the movie Mile, Mile and a half about the John Muir Trail. There are so many alpine lakes along the trail that you can't stop at all of them. This is the inlet to Purple lake where Purple creek feeds into the lake. This is one of my favorite photos of the John Muir Trail, this is the kind of scene that unfolds all the time on the trail.

Hiking along the Convict Lake Loop Trail in July, I stopped to photograph the outlet stream. The water was clear and cold, and the sky was filled with puffy white clouds.
