Vernal Falls from the Footbridge in Yosemite

The best time to visit Vernal Fall is in the spring, when the snowmelt from the Sierra Nevada mountains causes the waterfall to swell. However, Vernal Fall is beautiful to see year-round.

I spent the morning photographing the Merced River below Vernal Fall, where the water rushes over smooth granite boulders. The falls themselves are visible in the distance, framed by pines and deciduous trees showing their spring foliage.
