Sunrise over Recess Peak

Vermillion Valley Resort is familiar to JMT and PCT hikers. I resupplied at MTR when I did this section of the JMT, so I didn't know how good VVR is. I have read legendary reviews about customer service there. I have also wanted to visit them after Creek Fire and last year's drought. It was a biting cold morning. Mist from the water rose and added a surreal feeling to the scene at sunrise.

September in the Sierra Nevada, and the lake was covered in a low fog as the sun rose behind the peaks. The fog glowed where the sun hit it, and the lake surface reflected the light.
