Thousand Island Lake and Mount Ritter

Thousand Island Lake, dotted with small islands and surrounded by granite peaks, reflects Mount Ritter in its calm waters.

July in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, and the snowfields were still holding on the north faces above Thousand Island Lake. I remember the mosquitoes being fierce that year, but the views of Mount Ritter made it worth the bites.
