Banner Peak and Thousand Island Lakes

From the John Muir Trail, Banner Peak towers over Thousand Island Lakes.

July in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, and the snowfields were still holding on the north faces above Thousand Island Lake. I remember the mosquitoes being fierce that year, but the views of Mount Ritter made it worth the bites.
