Leconte Canyon

A wide valley filled with pine trees and scattered granite boulders is framed by steep, rocky mountain slopes under a blue sky with scattered white clouds. This is the view of Leconte Canyon

This was taken on a clear summer afternoon, with bright sun illuminating the upper granite peaks and casting deep shadows across the valley floor. The mix of exposed rock, talus slopes, and dense pine forest is typical of the High Sierra.
