Sunrise over Lake Edison and Recess Peak

Vermillion Valley Resort is familiar to JMT and PCT hikers. I resupplied at MTR when I did this section of the JMT, so I didn't know how good VVR is. I have read legendary reviews about customer service there. I have also wanted to visit them after Creek Fire and last year's drought. At sunrise, dark clouds loomed in. Recess Peak is seen at a distance and Lake Edison in the foreground.

September at Lake Tahoe, and the clouds were putting on a show at sunset. The light was hitting the clouds just right, creating a golden glow that reflected beautifully in the lake's rippled surface.
