Vidette meadows and Forester pass

Going up the 125 feet from near the Bullfrog lake junction in the JMT, towards Charlotte lake, stunning views of the Vidette meadow come into focus. Kearsarge pass is seen at a distance.

Hiking the John Muir Trail in late July, I stopped to photograph the view from Vidette Meadow toward Forester Pass. The valley was filled with a dense forest of conifers, contrasting with the bare rock of the peaks above.
