Vidette Meadow to Forester Pass

A view from the High Sierra shows a forested valley leading up to rocky peaks under a cloudy sky.

Hiking the John Muir Trail in late July, I stopped to photograph the view from Vidette Meadow toward Forester Pass. The valley was filled with a dense forest of conifers, contrasting with the bare rock of the peaks above.
