Mount Mendel and Evolution Creek

Mount Mendel rises above Evolution Creek in the Evolution Basin of the Sierra Nevada.

Hiking through Evolution Basin in mid-July, I found this view of Mount Mendel framed by granite slopes and a cascading creek. The sky was overcast, but the light was still bright enough to bring out the textures in the rock.
