Stone Giants: The Brihadeeswarar Temple and Nandi in Gangaikonda Cholapuram

The pinkish vimana of the Brihadeeswarar Temple rising behind the great stone Nandi, clipped lawn and hedge either side.

I spent the morning at Brihadeeswarar Temple in Tanjore, India, photographing the Nandi statue and the temple tower. The sky was overcast, but the light was still good for capturing the details of the ancient architecture.
