Bishop Pass Lakes

Looking down on the deep blue lakes below Bishop Pass, set in bare rock with no trees anywhere near them.

July in the High Sierra, and the sky was a perfect, cloudless blue as I hiked up to Bishop Pass. From the pass, the view opened up to reveal a series of alpine lakes nestled among the granite peaks and sparse vegetation. The air was thin and the sun was intense, but the view was worth the effort.
