Cerro Gordo's Rugged Coast

Turquoise waves churn and foam as they break against the volcanic rocks of Cerro Gordo National Park in Puerto Rico. The spray hangs in the air like mist, creating a veil over the dramatic coastline.

Christmas Day on a tropical coast, and the surf was up. The waves were breaking hard against the eroded limestone cliffs, sending spray high into the air.
