Half dome and Ahwahnee meadow in winter, covered in snow. Yosemite National Park is beautiful in all seasons, but it really comes alive in winter. During good snow years, there is snow everywhere in the meadows. It makes it dangerous to drive around, but if you can deal with icy roads, a world of wonder awaits. In this photo, Half Dome is seen along with Ahwahnee Meadows that is covered in snow.

Yosemite Valley in late winter, and the snow is starting to melt, creating pools of water on the valley floor. The high granite cliffs of the valley are partially lit by the sun, and clouds obscure the peaks.
