Muir Hut, Mount Whitney

The stone-built Muir Hut stands on a rocky outcrop near the summit of Mount Whitney, under a partly cloudy sky.

July on Mount Whitney, and the air was thin even standing still. The Muir Hut, built of local granite, provided a bit of shelter from the wind.
