View from Golden Staircase

Looking back down the valley from the Golden Staircase, the floor thick with pine and the walls rising on both sides.

I made this photograph on a clear summer afternoon in the High Sierra, looking down a valley towards a distant range of granite peaks. The sun was high, illuminating the rocky slopes and the vibrant green of the forest and undergrowth.
