Jagged peaks of the Sierra Nevada rise behind rocky ridges under a partly cloudy sky.

July in the High Sierra, and the granite peaks still hold some snow in the high cirques. The air was clear and the light was sharp, with the clouds casting moving shadows on the ridges.
