Marie Lakes, Yosemite High Country

Marie Lakes, a series of interconnected pools in Yosemite National Park, reflects the surrounding granite peaks under a clear blue sky.

I spent a week in the Yosemite high country, and the Marie Lakes basin was the highlight. The water was so clear I could see the trout swimming 20 feet down, and the granite around the lake was polished smooth by glaciers.
