Supermoon in Tri Valley

A supermoon is a full moon or a new moon that nearly coincides with perigee—the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit—resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the Moon as viewed from Earth. In this photograph, the moon is seen above Livermore hills. The planet Jupiter is seen at the top of the moon. This photograph was taken from the Pleasanton Ridge.

November 14, 2016, and the full moon was rising above the hills, appearing as a bright orange orb in the twilight sky. The hills are covered in green grass and low-lying vegetation, with a network of trails visible on their slopes.
