Half Dome and Merced Lake

Merced lake is the source of the Merced river. In this photograph, Half Dome is seen from the eastern side, which is an uncommon angle, along with Merced lake.

July in Yosemite's high country, and the air was clear after the thunderstorms of the previous week. From this vantage point above Merced Lake, Half Dome is visible in the distance, framed by the surrounding granite peaks and evergreen forests.
